Opening by An Taoiseach
Official Opening
On the 23rd of October 2009 our extension was opened. Everyone worked hard preparing for the day. There were flags and buntings hung outside the school. First we had mass said by Bishop Moriarty, Fr. Kelly and Fr. Corcoran. Some pupils read, others brought up the gifts and we all sang hymns.
When mass was over the Taoiseach, Brian Cowen came. The Bishop blessed the school and the Taoiseachpulled back the curtain and revealed the plaque. Then he cut the ribbon and everyone cheered. We put on a mini concert and each class sang and played music. We had a party in our classroom and the adults had tea and sandwiches in the hall. There was a big party in the school that night. It was a real success.
Check out our slideshow below to see some pictures of the day.
